Ming Aralia
The ming aralia is a type of evergreen perennial tree native to India
and Polynesia. It features impressive compound leaves that achieve a
bold, dark green color. The leaves on the ming aralia are oval shaped
and roughly four inches in length. They grow off of the tree’s erratic
stem, which creates an intertwining effect. As the leaves grow, they
hang downwards, which makes the tree appear shaggy. The ming aralia is
strictly a foliage plant, and does not boast any impressive flowers. If
properly cared for, a ming aralia tree can reach eight feet in height.
However, they can also be easily trimmed to a smaller size.
The ming aralia is one of the easiest exotic plants to grow at home. It
requires relatively little care and can thrive either indoors or
outside.
The ming aralia can thrive in an exceptionally large range of
temperatures, between 60 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit. It also prefers
moderate humidity and does not require direct sunlight. Rather, the ming
aralia thrives when receiving indirect light filtered through a window
or some partial shade. When planting a ming aralia tree, the soil
selected should be a moisture-retaining variety that is well aerated. It
should be watered regularly so as to keep the soil moist, and acidic
water should be avoided. If possible, use slightly warm water for your
ming aralia. As for fertilization, these plants need only be fed every
two weeks during the growing season, which is the spring and summer
months. Finally, keep on the lookout for common pests like aphids and
spider mites that are attracted to these trees. |
